Medicine admits generally arrive to the unit via the ED and we provide care for a broad range of non-cardiac diagnoses. The orthopedic post ops patients are total joint shoulder, spine, neuro-surgery spine and ortho tumor service. We bench mark against Step down units so the acuity is uniquely high here.
